With its intimate setting at 103 Greenwich Ave, it’s a place where culinary passion meets creativity. As soon as you step in, you're greeted by the tantalizing aromas of expertly crafted dishes. Diners rave about the iconic lasagna, often hailed as a must-try. One delighted patron proclaimed it the “best ever,” even surpassing renowned establishments. This signature dish is not just a meal; it’s an experience crafted with rich layers of sauce and perfectly textured pasta that come together in a harmonious bite.
Another highlight is the chrysanthemum salad, which offers a delightful twist on the classic Caesar. This unique presentation and flavor profile has won over many diners, making it a popular choice. The garlic flatbread and sourdough pasta have also received rave reviews, with diners appreciating the light and cheesy qualities of the flatbread alongside the savory goodness of the pasta.
If you have room for dessert, the tiramisu is a must. It’s not just a dessert; it’s a revelation that tantalizes your taste buds with its innovative take on a classic favorite. While some dishes, like the buffalo milk caramelle—though visually stunning—may not be to everyone’s taste, they highlight the creativity that Don Angie’s chefs bring to the table.
Service here is another standout feature, with attentive staff ensuring your meal is nothing short of exceptional. With a menu that tantalizes the senses and a reputation that speaks for itself, it’s no wonder that Don Angie demands reservations well in advance.

We sampled a couple appetizers, 4 meals, and the cauliflower and everything was delicious!!! Highly recommend the Chrysanthemum salad, it is similar to a Caesar, but the lettuce is so unique. The lasagna is a must and if you have room, you have to try the Tiramisu!
I happened to nab a Don Angie res at 2 pm on Sunday for 10:30. This is good. It’s a toss up between torrisi and this for my favorite Italian. We got the chrysanthemum salad, garlic flatbread, buffalo milk caramelle, sourdough pasta, steak Al limoncello, lasagna and sweet potatoes, Peach sorbet. Everything was delicious. The salad was a cool take on Caesar which I love, the flatbread was light and cheesy and steak was citrusy, fresh and juicy. The lasagna was really good nothing I haven’t tasted before. The presentation was cool and the pasta was a better quality but flavor wise it didn’t taste very different to homemade lasagna. The sweet potatoes was the most shocking. I hate them normally but it was really good so must order in my book. The pastas were really good but I actually preferred the sourdough. The caramelle was very cool looking and interesting tasting but a bit sweet to me so not my favorite. Definitely would go back. The sorbet however was a total miss. Not creamy, very icy and tasted a bit savory with the pepper. Highly recommend skipping. Next time I would try that lobster. Service was really good and they let us eat a half hour early.
There are certain restaurants where it is almost impossible to get a reservation, or you can wait in line for two hours to get in. The question is always “Is it worth it?” In Don Angie’s case, the answer is a resounding “Yes!” We walk past this place all the time, occasionally “peek in” (and are always disappointed), but the Restaurant Gods were shining upon us yesterday and magically there were two seats at the bar open. We went in and of course ordered their best known items. And they weren’t just good it was “best ever” type stuff. The lasagna was the best thing ever, even better than Carbone’s, which I didn’t think possible. And the famous chrysanthemum salad was incredible. Not as famous, but the crudo was amazing. And then the tiramisu was like the best dessert you’ve ever eaten in your life, a very different take on the concept. All these items, even the lasagne, are presented in highly original ways. The service was extraordinary, the wines as well (try the pinot) and the atmosphere wonderful. The place is very small but very well staffed. So yes - go here before you die - it really is “that good” and went far beyond our expectations in all respects. It lost its Michelin star two years ago but I would choose coming here over any 3 star place in New York, it’s much, much better and more memorable. Two hours in line is like nothing.
It was aaaaamazing so say the least!!! I've been dying to come here and finally get to come omgosh!! Super hyped!! My friend was able to get a table for doing walk in at 3:30pm on a Friday. We were added to the waitlist and it was a 2.5 hr wait but this was super worth!! They're also super hard to make a resy - never able to see it 7 days in advance at 9am. Someone pls give me tips if you do know the trick! We order the 2 most popular items and it was the best decision ever!! Although a little much for 2 people but we still finished it!! - lasagna 6/5: it was just amazing! Right amt of sauce, meat and pasta texture, a lil crispy on the top - just perfect - lobster 5/5: superbbb creamy, the pasta and salad went really well with it! The drinks were a miss though! So would prob pass on the drinks next time we go
Incredible spot for dinner or lunch, just be ready to feast! Lasagna is a must - but every other bite I’ve had has been incredible. The salad and steak are some other favorites of mine. Be sure to book a reservation.
Getting a reservation here was not an easy task, but absolutely worth it. Their chrysanthemum salad and lasagna dish was even better than I expected. I also tried the Japanese sweet potatoes and stuffed garlic flatbread. Everything was delicious! Don’t forget to save room for their tiramisu, best I’ve had. Thank you Nick and Dennis for Great service and shoutout to the bussers and runners for elevating our experience.
After giving Don Angie a second visit before sharing my thoughts, I can confidently say they did not disappoint. The food was truly outstanding, each dish was crafted with care, flavor, and authenticity. I thoroughly enjoyed indulging in my meal during Sunday dinner. A special thank-you to the very polite hoestess and Matt, the manager, who personally welcomed me and went out of his way to help secure my reservation in person. That level of attentiveness speaks volumes about the team’s dedication to guest experience. It is clear that Don Angie takes hospitality seriously. From the quality of the food to the warmth of the service, everything reflects their commitment to excellence. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone with a refined palate and appreciation for exceptional cuisine. I will absolutely be returning. Don Angie continues to deliver authenticity, consistency, and high-quality dining.
What more is there to say? Don Angie is an iconic restaurant in the West Village that lives up to all of the hype. From food to service to atmosphere, everything is on point. I highly recommend the garlic bread, salad, sourdough pasta, and garganelli. Really, you can’t go wrong here; even the steak is delicious.
